...It was our (my husband and I) great pleasure attending your "Burn your child's report card and still raise a successful adult" presentation held at Kennedy Middle School last night. I am writing to express our great appreciation to you. I am really impressed by your wonderful parenting ideas and your excellent presentation skills. I felt so lucky that I had the chance to attend your presentation at the time when I was struggling on how to parent my 13 year old son. Having been a parent for more than ten years, I just realized that there were so much more that my child needed from parents but I wasn't aware of. I have written them down and I am going to work on those. Thank you for bringing back my confidence on parenting. I just lost it when my son became a teenager. Of all the parenting presentations that I have listened so far, yours are the best!

Thank you SO much for being there...you are wonderful!! :-) Anyways, we're very pleased with how well our daughter doing, and want to sincerely thank you for all of your advice and support which you provided, plus just being there!! You're a great speaker (as well as emailer) and I hope to see you speak again somewhere, sometime. You're entertaining, supportive, understanding, so straight-forward and down to earth with such great advice."

"Thanks again for coming last night. I think it went really well. You definitely lived up to everything I expected and remembered. You did a fantastic job of restating questions and getting at what the real question was, which also made it very general to the whole audience as opposed to being focused on one child. You really validated my own beliefs in parenting and made me feel like I am making the right choices for my family. I hope to work with you again in the near future. I am definitely recommending that you speak for Los Madres again. Thank you so very much!"

"I attended your lecture 3 times at Sedgwick school. Next Tuesday is the last one. I feel like I already miss you.Your lecture is very simple easy and practical. I can apply for the daily life. Very helpful and effective. I hope to see you and have your lecture often. Your sessions gave me a wisdom, not theory. Thanks again from my heart."

"I heard you speak at my local high school and thought you had such wonderful advice and a great outlook. I loved what you said about the "watch me!" stage of teen hood... watch me argue, watch my brain grow and develop! I had never thought of it that way - thanks for offering me a different point of view and a new outlook. Thank you so much for your insightful approach to talking with kids. I learned a lot and am approaching my kids from a different perspective. The tensions in the house have really decreased!"

"I came to listen to you talk at Hoover Middle School in San Jose, Feb. 15, 2006. You were absolutely WONDERFUL with your down to earth advice and interesting information you shared with everyone. I really enjoyed and appreciated listening to you. You invited us (people in the audience) to email you with any questions we may still have following the lecture. Well, here it is 3 months later, and here is our question..."

Parents of Toddler and Baby
San Francisco, CA

"Thank you again for coming to our home this past weekend. My husband and I both benefited greatly from your observations and suggestions. And your written summary is a wonderful reminder of everything we talked about! Dealing with our soon-to-be 3 year old has been increasingly difficult since the new baby arrived 3 months ago. Our discipline strategies obviously were not effective. Your suggestions have pointed us in the right direction to hopefully end the frustration and to start "raising a successful adult"! I would highly recommend your services to any parents!"

Mother of 4 Children
San Jose, CA

"Thank you so much for responding with such great advice! We really appreciated it. We thought your suggestions were excellent and will definitely try them out. Our son is such a ham around family, he loves to be the center of attention. We are very hopeful, with your techniques, that he will feel more comfortable in social situations. Thank you again, and we will definitely keep you in mind if we need coaching in the future. We will also feel very comfortable recommending your services to our friends."

High School Counselor
Bellarmine College Preparatory
San Jose, CA

My enthusiasm for Susan Stone Belton's work is only eclipsed by her own energy whenever she is present in the room. Bellarmine has been most fortunate to have Susan as our guest speaker consistently over the last 7 years at an informational evening for our parents on the topic of how to parent teens and how to talk with them on the subject of alcohol and drug use. Her work is marked by immediate rapport with her audience, practical suggestions for parents, plus empathetic and emphatic attention to the struggles of parenting. Susan's infectious sense of humor enables her audiences to laugh at their own experiences with their teens and to look to new ways of getting the message delivered effectively to their teens. Susan delivers a comprehensive guide to parents with specific examples of what works and why it works. She draws on her strength of character and her profound depth of sincerity in what she will tell you is the most important work anyone can do, parenting.

Parents send me notes of appreciation not only for the informational and interactive evening we provide, but specifically for Susan's approach and suggestions. In the last part of the evening, Susan answers questions from parents. Inevitably she will answer not only the direct question, but will also bring to the open the question that the parent may have been reticent to ask publicly. Her breadth of experience with children and their families allows Susan to recognize the look, the tone of voice, and the query that parents bring to the room. Her responses, stories, cartoons, and tips give parents a sense of how to truly listen to their teens and how to provide limits appropriately for the teen years. Her talk with parents is the highlight of the evening. Her heartfelt delivery gives hope to parents and gives a new sense of purpose to the parents who come to hear her.

I recommend her to you with great pleasure and the highest praise.
